On the 14th of May Fashion Fiesta is bringing the Fiesta Collective to the heart of Ilkley. As well as raising money for charity, The Fiesta Collective has two main ambitions; the first is to bring the whole Ilkley community together and the second is to have a sustainable runway.

The Fiesta Collective is solely run by volunteers and will not make profit. Therefore we need all the help we can get; to spread the word and sell tickets, to recruit volunteers to help run the show and finally get those all important sponsors.

What's the plan

5:00PM - 6:30PM - Networking Event

The Fiesta Collective is partnering with the Ilkley Social Networking to bring together local businesses. This will benefit local businesses as they can grow their connections and hopefully boost their profits.

6:30PM- 7:15PM- The Fashion Show

We have some fabulous entrepreneurial designers. Ahroob Jabbar and Debbie Wilkinson are both passionate about using locally sourced fabrics and are re-styling their old designs for the catwalk. Corinne Cooligan is a completely sustainable designer and reuses fabrics to make her garments.

There will also be a charity shop collection, this will consist of garments that have been purchased from charity shops around Ilkley. These outfits will then be auctioned off at the end of the show and the proceeds will go to charity.

Community event

We plan to involve the local community in many ways; Firstly we are making contact with local schools to get students involved with bringing the event to life. This event will further the careers of those who are volunteering, by giving them the valuable experience they can refer to on their CV, especially those who intend to go into fashion or events management, both very competitive fields.

Fashion Fiesta’s ethos is rooted in inclusion, we would like to include people from all age ranges to celebrate Ilkley’s diversity. We plan to make contact with community groups to enlist models for the fashion show from all age ranges.

Coronavirus

We are currently taking into account all government advice regarding the Coronavirus. As stated before the planned date is the 14th of May, however if this is not appropriate we will postpone.

How can you help

●Spreading the word ○ We would greatly appreciate it if you could reach out to your contacts and promote the show. We would love to get as many members of the community there and it would be amazing if The Fiesta Collective could become an annual event however this can only happen with the support of the community.

● Recruiting volunteers ○ As Fashion Fiesta is a brand run by volunteers, we need to get people involved to make the show happen. It would be a huge help if you could put anyone interested in volunteering in contact with Matilda Axon, the event manager. ○ [email protected].

● Sponsors (from £300) ○ As The Fiesta Collective is a charity fashion show we rely on sponsors to make the event possible. ○ You can sponsor anything from the welcome drinks to the venue to marketing.
